  • Not necessarily. Yes, thoughtful application of technology in the classroom can make some learning tasks more efficient, but these technologies can also distract or dysregulate students or even expose them to harmful content. There’s also very little evidence to suggest that educational technology (or “ed tech”) aids in learning. Instead, most studies suggest that ed tech impairs learning.     • Tell your teacher you’d like your child to opt out of 1-to-1 technology and ask for non-tech alternatives.

    • Go to community meetings, school board meetings, PTA meetings, etc and encourage leaders to make intentional, research-backed decisions about technology use in classrooms.
